Join us at Malar Sinar as we celebrate the launch at Wisma Geylang Serai of 5 new literary Malay books written by 20 Singaporean writers. Tunjuk Langit by Jamal Ismail chronicles the lives of seemingly ordinary senior citizens at a welfare home. Rayuan Pada Hujan by Maarof Salleh and Langkah Langkah Langka by Mohd Khair Mohd Yasin feature a collection of poetry navigating the twisting paths of life and its different meanings. Lukah di Pergentingan is a short story anthology that compiles 16 exemplary works from the online Nyala writing contest. Mengasah Kalam, written by S.E.A Write winner and Cultural Medallion recipient Suratman Markasan, features his collection of essays on Singaporean literature. These books are published by Unggun Creative and supported by the National Arts Council. This launch event is organised as part of #BuySingLit 2019. This launch is in Malay.
