Description

“Lim Cheng Hoe: Painting Singapore” presents social and cultural narratives of Singapore in paint. Three generations of SG Poets will do the same in verse. The poets will reflect on bonds with their homeland through the visual and literary arts.

Through ekphrastic poetry, where poems describe the visual impressions and situations arising from paintings, the poets reflect on the intimate feelings about home, a theme explored by Lim Cheng Hoe in his watercolour paintings that will be exhibited in National Gallery Singapore.

Members of the public can sign up for workshops on ekphrastic poetry, the same genre that will be showcased at the poetry tours. They may also join an Instagram poetry competition, with the top three winners to be invited to perform their works at the tours.
